Information for authors

Submissions

Article submissions, no longer than 16 pages, should be sent to editors electronically through this platform. All communication with authors should be done electronically. The authors of accepted papers will to submit their files electronically to Studia Informatica.

Such action is representation by the author that the manuscript has not been published or submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. A cover letter must indicate the author to whom correspondence should be sent. Complete addresses (including e-mail addresses) should be provided for all authors. It is self understood that by submitting a paper the corresponding author has the agreement of all co-authors to act on their behalf.

In case of need, or if the Studia office does not acknowledge receipt of your submission in due time, please contact Studia Informatica at studia-i@cs.ubbcluj.ro to verify its receipt. In case printed materials are submitted, authors should retain copies of all manuscripts, as Studia Informatica will not return them after co7mpletion of the review process.

Originality of papers

By submitting a work to be evaluated and published as a paper in our journal the authors implicitly confirm and agree that their paper is an original work, it has not been published before, that all the copyrighted material used in the work has been properly acknowleged.

Acceptance of authors quality

By submitting a work to be evaluated and published as a paper in our journal the corresponding author implicitly confirms that he has previously obtained the full agreement of all co-authors to co-author the submitted work. While the editors send a confirmation email to all authors of the paper, we cannot be certain that our email has indeed reached the intended destination, and we cannot assume anything about any lack of reply.

The evaluation process

The editor-in-chief has the exclusive right to assign papers to members of the editorial board. The editors reserve the right to reject any manuscript that is not completely legible or does not conform to the standards cited below.

All papers are independently reviewed by two peer reviewers. The reviewers fill in due time a standard evaluation form. The reviewers' suggestions or requests for modifications are anonymously communicated to the authors, together with the decision of the editorial board on the publication of the paper.

The papers will be typeset using the LaTeX 2e system

Studia provides a LaTeX macro package designed to make author-typeset articles conform to Studia style standards with a minimum of difficulty. Please use the standard amsart class together with this Studia package, and see this formatting example.

Title

Titles should be brief and appropriate for indexing and should specifically describe the content of the paper.

Abbreviated title

An abbreviated title, which will be used as a running head, must accompany all articles and must consist of no more than 50 characters (including spaces).

Abstract

An abstract not exceeding 250 words that summarizes the principal techniques and conclusions of the manuscript in relation to known results must accompany each manuscript. Mathematical formulas and bibliographic references should be kept to a minimum; bibliographic references must be written out in full.

Key words and phrases

A list of key words and phrases must acompany all articles.

Subject classifications

AMS Mathematical Subject Classification (2010) and ACM Computing Reviews Categories and Subject Descriptors (1998) must accompany all articles.

Authors should use the following example:

\subjclass[2010]{68P15, ...}
\subjclassCR{H.2.3 [\textbf{Database Management}]: Languages -- \textit{SQL};...}

Illustrations

All illustrations must be of professional quality with no handwritten elements. Studia will not redraw figures. Illustrations must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text. Previously published material must be accompanied by written permission from the author and publisher.

Authors should use

\usepackage[...]{graphicx}
\usepackage{epstopdf}

and compile the final pdf file with

pdflatex myarticle

References

References should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the manuscript. Authors should use:

\bibliographystyle{acm}
\bibliography{bibfile}

and produce the bibliography file with:

bibtex myarticle

LaTeX typesetting requirements

The papers will include the minimal amount of supplementary LaTeX styles required to correctly process the document. In particular, the following rules are in place:

• do not modify the dimensional characteristics of the page;
• do not introduce text colouring features;
• do not modify any font setting of the document;
• do not introduce clickable URLs;
• do not alter in any way the references citation mechanism indicated here;
• do not submit files producing compilation errors.

The official LaTeX typesetting implementation used by Studia UBB Informatica is MiKTeX. It is the responsibility of the authors to make sure the submitted files compile correctly with MiKTeX.
