About the Journal

Theologia Catholica Latina (Studia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai series) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology of Babeş-Bolyai University since 2000.

As one of the first scholarly theological journals that appeared in Romania after the fall of communism, the journal mainly published the research of the academic staff and colleagues from Hungary.

It acquired an international profile starting with 2005, with contributions from international scholars and the internationalisation of the editorial and advisory board.

The journal welcomes scholarly papers written in English, German, French and Italian.

The structure of the journal is jointed on the studies and articles, books and reviews, grouped by domains. 

Since 2005 it is published as a semi-annual journal. The two issues appear in June and December, respectively.

As of September 2021 is an Diamond Open Access journal.

 

Aims and Scope

  • Addressing relevant, important matters is thematic issues.
  • Improving the international profile of the journal, welcoming articles of international scholars.
  • Including the journal in further international databases and improving its visibility.

The journal is classified by the Romanian National Council for Scientific Research (CNCS) in the B Category (2011-2020: Myths, Rituals, Symbolic Representations, Theology and Religious Studies. Ethnography; 2020-present: Theology).

 

Open Access Policy

Starting September 2021 Studia UBB Theologia Catholica Latina got the status of ‘Diamond Open Access’.

All articles published in Studia UBB Theologia Catholica Latina are fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download and share.

Studia UBB Theologia Catholica Latina does not charge authors any kind of publication fees or article processing charges.

Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license which permits, without charge, use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

 

Prevention and Fight against Plagiarism and other forms of fraudulent conduct

Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai takes seriously the prevention of plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct including but not limited to the fabrication and/or falsification of data. Authors should be aware that:
- All essays are checked by a soft meant to verify plagiarism.

- Plagiarism or other forms of academic fraud discovered and documented during the reviewing process result in the rejection of the manuscript. The editors will notify the higher education or research institution to which the author is affiliated, and bring the attempt of academic fraud to the attention of the scholarly community and of public opinion.
- Upon information on allegations of plagiarism or other forms of academic fraud following the publication of an article, any article that has been already published in Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai, following the thorough verification of the notification, the Editors may take the following steps: a) contact the Index of allegations of plagiarized works in Romania; b) follow the procedure in place for plagiarism or other forms of academic fraud discovered and documented during the review process, discussed above; c) officially inform the higher education or research institution to which the author is affiliated, making available all necessary documents (including the author’s responsible declaration of originality); d) advise the most important international databases about the allegation of plagiarism; and e) publish (on the site, etc.) the official position on the matter.
