Biologically inspired polydopamine (Pd) has served as a universal coating of nanoparticles for various applications in nanobiotechnology research fields. In this study, we report the encapsulation of gold nanorods in Pd through the self-polymerization of dopamine molecules under alkaline conditions. The obtained core/shell nanoparticles were optically and morphologically characterized using UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, transmission electronic microscopy, dynamic light scattering and Zeta Potential measurements.References
