Abstract

The structural changes of some commercial PET samples, submitted to different thermal treatments, were investigated by XRD method. Rapid cooling of melted samples, leads to partial destruction of the initial local ordered structure. A tendency of polymeric chain to conglomerate into new small crystalline structures is observed. At slow cooling this tendency is accentuated, but the initial ordered structure is almost entirely destroyed.
